TEDxUConn, in partnership with the UConn Women's Center, will be hosting a live stream of TEDWomen, an annual TED event celebrating innovations, leadership, and big ideas with women at their core. The theme of this year's event is "Invention." The event will be held on Thursday, December 5th from 4 to 6 pm in the Women’s Center Lounge (SU 421G) and will be followed by a panel discussion. There’s hardly anything more intriguing than considering what today’s trends mean for the future. No doubt, the interplay of technological advances, geopolitical and environmental challenges, and cultural shifts make the future nearly impossible to predict, but it’s well worth a try. Speakers at TEDxUConn will share some of the great ideas that are bound to change the future.
The event will be a full day of stimulating talks and thought-provoking conversations. Lunch will be provided, as well as refreshments afterward, and, best of all, admission is free! Space is very limited: TEDxUConn will select a diverse audience from the undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty who have applied!
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
